Santa Clarita Park Day

On November 19, we are celebrating Kindness Day by painting rocks and writing encouraging sayings on them. We would love for learners to take the rocks and place them around the city for other people to find. The event will take place at Heritage Park in Santa Clarita (24155 Newhall Ranch Rd., Santa Clarita, CA) from 12:00 to 1:30 p.m. RSVP here if you would like to attend.

 

Veterans Day Salute!

November 11 is a commemorative day to salute all the men and women who have protected our country! Please take a moment to recognize and thank someone in your life who has spent time in military service. Acton Children’s Business Fair

Could a 10-year-old invent the next-best service or product? Find out Saturday, December 14, from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at the La Habra Children’s Business Fair, where businesses are created and launched entirely by children ages eight through seventeen. Learners create a product or service, develop a brand, build a marketing strategy, and then open for customers at this one-day marketplace. The “kidpreneurs” are responsible for the setup, sales, and interaction with customers. There is one category in which the booths will be judged for “Most Business Potential” at the fair. This year’s Student Support Symposium will challenge and inspire every parent and educator who is committed to helping vulnerable populations, learners impacted by challenging disabilities, trauma, and/or other emotional challenges, to succeed. New for 2019, you have TWO LOCATIONS to choose from:

  • Tuesday, October 8 at SCVi in Santa Clarita Valley
  • Thursday, October 10 at the iLEAD OC Studio in Costa Mesa

iLEAD Schools would like to invite you to join your iLEAD family and friends for this ALL iLEAD Schools event. Lace up your running shoes and join us Sunday, Nov 3, at 1 p.m. at the Universal City Metro Plaza for the annual iLEAD Amazing Race. There, you will begin your Los Angeles adventure via the Metro red line on a photo scavenger hunt together with your team. Registration closes October 28. The Allemande Music Academy

The Allemande Music Academy would like to invite you to attend a special presentation of the music of Bach and Chopin on Saturday, April 27, at 7 p.m. This educational concert hosted by the Santa Clarity Valley Youth Symphony Orchestra, will be held in the choir room at College of the Canyons, located at 26455 Rockwell Canyon Rd., Santa Clarita, CA 91355. Service Project: Beach Cleanup

We are so excited about our beach cleanup taking place on Friday, April 26, at 10 a.m. Families can meet at the lifeguard headquarters building right next to the beach, adjacent to the parking lot on 2100 E Ocean Blvd., Long Beach, CA 90803. Please follow the steps down from the grassy bluffs at Junipero and Ocean Blvd. We will stroll the beach, gathering trash and cleaning up together. Please bring a bucket or bag to gather trash in, and reusable gloves or something to clean your hands after we clean up!
There is a pay parking lot adjacent to the beach and lifeguard headquarters. Alternatively, you can find street parking and walk down the stairs or ramp as well. Please be aware of street sweeping in some areas.

2019 PBS Kids Writers Contest

Calling all learners in Kindergarten through 3rd grade! PBS SoCal is hosting a writer’s contest, and YOU are invited to participate! Enter your story or poem to win prizes and have your work published online! Each entry must be an original work, written and illustrated by the entrant. First, second, and third place winners will be chosen from each grade, and every child who submits an original piece will receive a certificate of appreciation for their participation.

This Tuesday, April 2, we are proudly presenting our second EXPLORE WITH TED. Once again, we hope that you will watch a selected TED talk and then join fellow parents on social media as we respectfully share our thoughts. EXPLORE WITH TED discussions will be happening on iLEAD Exploration’s Facebook and Instagram pages.
