Gold Rush on the Farm 4-8th graders @Gilcrist Farms

Gold Rush Field Trip
Students will visit Gilchrist Farm Mining Co. to experience life as a 49er through hands-on activities that support 4th grade CA history standards. The program includes panning for real gold, navigating the Isthmus of Panama maze, riding the Cape Horn slide, trying old-fashioned chores like butter making and washboard laundry, and learning about the three routes to California and the economics of the Gold Rush.

This tour’s educational content is aimed at the 4th grade curriculum and aligned with California State Standards.

• A ticket is required to participate
• 4th-8th graders are welcomed
• One parent/guardian per family is included per learner ticket
• Day of details will be emailed a few days prior
• All tickets are final and non refundable, do not purchase a ticket unless you are certain you will attend
• No siblings
• All participants must wear closed toed shoes
