Heritage Museum of Orange County: Kellogg House, Blacksmith and Quilt Square-making
October 7 @ 9:00 am - 12:00 pm PDT

Heritage Museum of OC brings Orange County history to life with an interactive tour of the 1898 Kellogg House and hands-on activities—including butter-making, a stereoscopic viewer, pump organ play, Victorian dress-up, quilt-square crafting, and blacksmith demonstrations by the Orange County Blacksmith Guild—that immerse students in the customs and daily life of the 1890s leisure class. Students will be able to name three period activities or objects from 1890s Orange County, sequence 2–3 steps of a simple 1890s process and identify one way it differs from today, and collaborate in small groups to create a simple artifact while sharing one fact they learned about local history.
