Learner University: Cardboard Arcade: Design. Build. Play (6-12th Grade)
March 16 @ 10:00 am - 2:00 pm PDT

How can we design a cardboard arcade game that is fun, fair, and engaging for real players?
Over the next six weeks, learners in grades 6-12th are invited to become a game designer, engineer, artist, and entrepreneur as they imagine, design, build, test, and showcase their very own cardboard arcade game. This project isn’t about making something that looks cool—it’s about creating an experience that works. Learners will prototype, fail, improve, and think about players, rules, scoring, fairness, and fun. Meetings will be virtual, inviting learners to design and refine their game, then end with a live, in-person Presentation of Learning where each learner’s game opens to real players. From idea to play-test to showtime—let’s build something unforgettable.
Virtual Class Dates: 3/16, 3/23, 3/30, 4/13, 4/20 @ 10am on ZOOM
Presentation of Learning – in person – 4/26 10:30 am-noon @ the OC Learning Studio
