Learner University: Engineering Design Process (Grades 5-6th)
March 24 @ 9:30 am - 10:15 am PDT

Guiding Question: If we were engineers, how could we design solutions to everyday problems that help people and protect the planet?
In this project-based learning unit, learners will explore how engineers solve everyday problems that affect people and the environment. They’ll look closely at challenges in their school, community, or daily lives and think about how small ideas can make a big difference.
Working in teams, learners will ask questions, research, design, build, and improve their solutions using the engineering design process. Along the way, they’ll think about creativity, sustainability, and how engineering can help make life safer and better.
The project will end with a Presentation of Learning, where learners proudly share their ideas, designs, and the impact their solutions could have on people and the planet.
