Tour of the Original Los Angeles Farmer’s Market
March 4 @ 10:30 am - 1:00 pm
Learn about this special place and its history rooted in the culture of old Los Angeles! Before The Grove and the bustling Fairfax district with its many LA hot spots, there was a large farm that was built on an oil field and belonged to the Gilmore family- a family that still oversees the day-to-day tasks at the market!
Bring a lunch or buy food from one of the many food vendors in the market- after the tour (about 45-60 minutes long) we can all sit and enjoy one another’s company in the upstairs area of the market- a secret little hangout that most visitors don’t even know is there!
Please plan to arrive a little early to park and to navigate the expansive market area. We will meet at 10:30 in the upstairs area of the market by the business offices. (If you get lost, ask any vendor where the market’s offices are and they will point you in the right direction! There are also signs.)
Be sure to park in the Farmer’s Market parking lots and NOT in The Grove’s garage. You will receive partial validation for parking in the market’s lots. Rates can be found on their website. Validation for all day parking MAY be offered depending on our group size. If not, plan to park using standard/ partial validation.
The Farmer’s Market is generously offering us this rare tour. If you sign up, please show up!
Great Tip: There is an entire section on the Farmer’s Market website dedicated to its history- this is a great resource for front-loading the field trip!
This field trip is for iLead learners and families only. No refunds available after purchase.
*Ticket sales for this event will close on March 3 at 5pm*
