About April

April graduated from Cal State Northridge with a bachelor’s degree in history. She went on to obtain her teaching credential at National University in Los Angeles. Her teaching career began at a college prep high school in Inglewood, California. She was able to share her passion for history with her eleventh graders in her U.S. History and Advanced Placement U.S. History classes. She continued her education with professional development through College Board trainings, UCLA History-Geography Project and the Civil War Teacher Institute Battlefield tours. April then moved up to Santa Clarita and started helping high school kids pursue their diploma through an independent study program. She really enjoyed working with students individually to reach their educational goals.

After taking a few years off to raise her two small children, April began her journey at iLEAD Exploration. She is excited to be at such an innovative and supportive school and is looking forward to working with homeschool families! In her free time, April enjoys traveling and camping with her family and also reading and watching documentaries.
