About April
April graduated from Cal State Northridge with a bachelor’s degree in history. She went on to obtain her teaching credential at National University in Los Angeles. Her teaching career began at a college-prep high school in Inglewood, California, where she shared her passion for history with eleventh graders in U.S. History and Advanced Placement U.S. History classes. She continued her professional development through College Board training, the UCLA History–Geography Project, and Civil War Teacher Institute battlefield tours.
April then moved to Santa Clarita and began helping high school students pursue their diplomas through an independent-study program. She enjoyed working with students individually to reach their educational goals.
After taking a few years off to raise her two small children, April began her journey at iLEAD Exploration. She is excited to be part of such an innovative and supportive school and looks forward to working with independent-study families. In her free time, April enjoys traveling and visiting national parks with her family, as well as reading and watching documentaries.
