About Julia

Julia is excited to serve iLEAD families by supporting their unique paths to learning. Her own adventures homeschooling her kids have led her to experience the value of embracing learning in all its shapes, sizes, colors, and styles! She feels blessed to come alongside families and work together to support their educational goals and philosophies.

Julia was inspired to enter the world of education after spending a year in college working with an amazing integrated science class at Berkeley High. She graduated from U.C. Berkeley majoring in biological psychology, and continued on to receive a master’s degree in educational technology and computer leadership from Cal State Los Angeles. She spent most of her time as a teacher in a math/science/technology magnet school, and also had the opportunity to work with struggling readers as the intervention coordinator.

When Julia’s not working, she’s usually running amok with her three kids, or on Pinterest finding neat homeschool resources. Vegetable gardening is a family hobby (because heirloom tomatoes are THAT good), and she’s a year into learning the art of ceramics and throwing on the wheel. She has a sweet tooth and an addiction to iced coffee. Julia is very much a member of the crafting & DIY world, whether it be sewing, knitting, and giving new life to thrift store finds with a little bit of elbow grease and a sander.
