Julie Dessalines is so excited to be part of the iLEAD Exploration team! After receiving her bachelor’s degree in psychology from the University of California San Diego, she started working as a substitute teacher for the Los Angeles Unified School District. She immediately became a highly requested substitute for a number of schools throughout her city. She went on to earn her multiple subject teaching credential from National University, and her single subject math credential from Cal State Northridge. She has over 10 years of teaching experience with a range of learners in grades K-5 and special education.
When Julie became a mother, she put her teaching career on hold to stay at home with her children. As a fellow homeschooling parent, she feels blessed every day that she gets to be a witness to her children’s learning and discovery, and is thrilled to work with families on the same path. She is passionate about homeschooling and all that it provides for her family, and loves sharing that passion with others.
Julie lives in the San Fernando Valley with her husband and two children. She enjoys anything outdoors whether it be a day at the park with her family, hiking, camping or relaxing at the beach.
