About Karen

Born and raised in southern California, Karen comes from a family full of educators. After receiving her undergraduate degree at UCLA (Go Bruins!), Karen attended Cal State Fullerton where she received her teaching credential as well as a master’s in educational curriculum and instruction. After working as a classroom teacher for a few years, she left the classroom to be a stay at home mother. During her time at home, Karen kept her love for teaching afloat through tutoring, teaching homeschool classes, and working with children in other capacities. As part of the iLEAD team, Karen loves working with families to bring the best in education to them by helping them be the best home educators they can be!

Karen has been married to her husband and best friend, also an educator, since 2006. She has three wonderfully unique and beautiful children and resides in sunny Santa Clarita. Her passions outside of teaching and working with children include playing the piano and being with her family and friends.
