About Taruna
Taruna received her teaching credential from Whittier College and went on to earn her master’s degree in education. She has experience teaching children in both traditional and non‑traditional school environments. She has taught at the elementary level and was a Kumon math and reading owner/instructor for three years, where she enjoyed working with a diverse range of learners from kindergarten through high school. She believes each child is unique and that educators should approach learning as a collaborative effort between the student, teacher, and family. Taruna loves working with children and is excited to support them in their iLEAD journey.
Taruna enjoys spending time with her husband and two children. They like traveling, hiking, and playing board games together. One of her favorite activities is curling up with a good book and a cup of coffee. She also enjoys planning trips—she recently helped coordinate a group of 18 family and friends to explore Canada and Alaska. Her travels have taken her and her family to Cambodia, Croatia, Italy, France, Greece, Montenegro, Singapore, Slovenia, and Thailand, and she is already planning future trips abroad.
