About Yvette
Yvette is thrilled to be starting her fifth year at iLEAD Exploration as an Educational Facilitator! She earned her B.A. in Psychology from Loyola Marymount University, followed by her teaching credential from Cal State L.A. and Point Loma Nazarene University. She began her elementary teaching career over 20 years ago. After a couple of years in public school, Yvette spent many years in an independent school teaching various elementary grades as well as Spanish.
Yvette is a mom to two daughters, and her passion for independent study developed while working with gifted and neurodivergent students. She feels strongly that the ability to customize each student’s education is hugely beneficial and is eager to help guide families through this process. Yvette also serves at iLEAD on the PBL team and enjoys helping learners grow their creativity and problem-solving skills.
In her free time, Yvette enjoys spending time with her husband and teenage daughters, as well as with her extended family. She loves going to the beach, reading, playing board games, and dancing in her Zumba classes!
