Home Depot Field Trip

IMG_2796-225x300.jpgWe had an amazing field trip at Home Depot! We got to tour the store and build a hands-on project. We started the tour in the garden center where learners discovered a plant called the “Sensitive Plant” that reacts to your touch. They loved touching it and seeing it move. The learners even got to take one of these plants home with them! We then went on to the paint department where learners got to choose a paint color to be mixed up. We learned how the paint color is created and tips for painting. Then we were off to our hands-on build. Everyone was greeted at the build with water, juice and cookies. They then picked their project to build and paint. The room was filled with happy and proud learners as they created beautifully constructed and painted bird houses and sail boats. Home Depot was an awesome host and everyone had a great experience.
