Caribbean American Heritage Month

Caribbean American Heritage Month is celebrated in the US every June. This month recognizes and honors the contributions of Caribbean immigrants and their families both historically and culturally.
Take a look at this site to learn more.
Here is a project that will help you learn more about the special month. Choose a Caribbean American figure. For example, Colin Powell, Shirley Chisholm, Wyclef Jean, Celia Cruz, or Sidney Poitier. Create a presentation, such as a poster, Google Slides show, or video highlighting the following:
- Their country of origin
- Major accomplishments
- How their Caribbean heritage influenced their life/work
- Include any additional information such as music, art, or food from their culture
Through this project, learners will gain a deeper understanding of the role Caribbean Americans have played in shaping the United States.
