Learner University – Project-Based Learning Opportunities

Learner University iLEAD Exploration

iLEAD Exploration families, we have some exciting Learner University opportunities to share with you. See below for more information, and sign up to join us.

Learner University: Graphic Design-Brand Identity (Grades 6-8)

In what ways can visual design elements—such as color, typography, and symbols—be combined to build a memorable brand that stands out in a crowded market? Description: Logos, colors, vibes—oh my! In this exciting PBL, learners will uncover the secrets behind strong brand identity. They’ll study popular brands, explore local logos, and discover how design shapes the way we feel about a business. Through creative discussion and idea-storming, learners will learn how brands visually share their values with the world and then bring it all to life by creating their very own custom brand kit.

Project Dates: March 4, 11, 18, 24, 26 and April 1

It’s Party Time – Data and Graphing Project (Grades 2-3)

Have you ever had a gathering with friends? How do you know what your friends like to do, what kind of music they like, or what they like to eat? Learners will collect authentic data from their classmates, friends, and family to find out some of their favorite things in order to plan a party! They will then learn to graph this data in various forms. They will use what they learned about their friends to “plan a party.”

Project Dates: February 23-27 at 9:00 – 10:00 AM.

A planetary scientist will join the group as a guest expert to help them prepare for space!
