The FAFSA deadline is March 2 for California public colleges. This is for graduates only. The FAFSA is for four-year colleges, community colleges, and trade schools. It is necessary for the College Promise Free Tuition Program, CalGrants, and for need-based aid. It can also be necessary for scholarships. You can find more information here.

The National Association of College Admission Counseling (NACAC) sponsors college fairs all over the country and in Canada. These can be slightly overwhelming, but they are definitely worth it. Your freshman year in high school is a great time to attend these.
