College Fairs

These fairs are sponsored by the National Association of College Admission Counselors and run throughout the year. Schedules for each fair can be found on the NACAC Fair website.

  • General: Learners have access to a wide variety of college admission officers at these college fairs.
  • STEM: These colleges focus on science, technology, engineering, and math. Learn how to make the most of a STEM college fair.
  • Visual and Performing Arts: Find art colleges, colleges with conservatories, theater programs, and more.

COSI fairs offer opportunities to meet with admission officers from international colleges and colleges outside of California. Special focus is given to colleges that are members of the Western Undergraduate Exchange (WUE).

For 20 years, this group of colleges has been known for making a difference in the lives of learners. CTCL fairs typically come to southern California in the summer.

College Search Tools

This website is offered by the College Board and allows learners to search and save favorite colleges. A list of the most important requirements for each institution is listed as well as characteristics that make each school unique.

This website offers a variety of statistical data including admissions rates, default rates, safety statistics, test scores, enrollment numbers, graduation rates, and more.

Not just a typical college search engine, CollegeData goes deep into financial aid data and allows learners to calculate their chance of getting into specific colleges.

Colleges that Change Lives is a unique list of 40+ liberal arts colleges that are known for their outstanding learner-centered education.

These schools were selected for their great teaching, active and vibrant communities, and strong outcomes.

Scoir is a college search and planning network to help learners find the right fit for college. Learners will be able to access Scoir using their school email. New accounts will be created at the beginning of the school year. Contact your EF for more info.

Known as the Yelp of colleges, this website provides ratings from current college students about important categories like academics, food, social culture, and dorms. It is a great way to learn about a college!

Princeton Review includes college ratings by learners in the areas of academics, classroom experience, and professors. Rankings also include aspects of campus culture such as drinking and drug use, partying, sports, and even campus radio stations.

Did you know California is part of a tuition exchange? The Western Undergraduate Exchange, or WUE (woo-eee), is a list of public colleges in 16 states that offer discounted tuition to California residents.

Books and Websites

This book provides a guide to the best colleges according to the learners themselves. The Best 387 Colleges offers in-depth profiles and ranking lists to help find the best college fit.

Ethan Sawyer, The College Essay Guy, is known as a leading expert in writing the college essay. His website includes online courses, podcasts, articles and more. The College Essay Guy is a vendor and has offered a special course discount to iLEAD Exploration learners.

This guide has an array of information such as best colleges for specific majors, rankings by academics, social life and quality of life, statistical summaries, college descriptions, as well as a personal survey.
