Jeremy Preston David is a TK learner with iLEAD Exploration. He is a busy 5-year-old who is able to participate in and enjoy a variety of activities. Jeremy is an incredibly compassionate boy and has started Brighter Journeys Movement to help homeless people. He has also recently begun his own mini business to earn money to help children in the Philippines.
Participating in TaeKwonDo at Shambhala Martial Arts is Jeremy’s favorite activity. He was excited to break his first wooden board using only his hand! Jeremy also enjoys cooking classes at Claremont Chefs Academy, performing arts classes at Sunshine Academy, horseback riding lessons at Fun with Horses, archery and fencing at Gryphon Fitness Studio and piano lessons with Eric Abrahamson. He loves reading books about dinosaurs and the Titanic.
Jeremy was concerned about the homeless people he would see on the streets during our recent storm season. He proactively wanted to help give them something to eat and tools to help brush their teeth. Using his Christmas money and in collaboration with friends and family, Jeremy and his little brother put together over 100 care packs for the homeless to be distributed throughout Orange County by nonprofit organizations, volunteers, and friends. He even gave several to his educational facilitator to hand out. Care packs included snacks, toothbrushes, toothpaste, soap, fresh socks, and a shirt. His Facebook group is called Brighter Journeys Movement.
His compassion does not stop with the homeless people in our area. Recently, Jeremy started his own mini business of creating and selling sugar scrubs to earn money to send boxes of clothing, toys, and books to less fortunate children in the Philippines. “I want to share what we have with the kids in the Philippines who live in small houses and don’t have a bed. Toys and clothes can help make them happy,” states Jeremy.
Jeremy is enjoying his first year homeschooling. He says, “I like learning many different things. When I have a question about something, we go look it up in books or the internet. Field trips and going to different places are so much fun!”
