Monday Message – May 30, 2022

On Saturday, May 21, friends and family gathered to celebrate the life of Michael T. Boore, Jr. Michael was a tenth-grade learner with Exploration. He was competitive, loved his two older brothers, enjoyed playing games, watching videos, and eating Korean BBQ.

Michaels’ biggest love was TaeKwonDo. He fell in love with competitive TaeKwonDo in 2015 when he won the silver medal at the USAT Nationals as a yellow belt.

Later, he won the bronze medal at the 2016 Presidential Cup, his first international black belt event. He trained hard with Olympic aspirations and began to excel, winning several state titles in California, Nevada, and Arizona. He started to gain ground internationally winning a silver medal at the 2019 Canada Open as well as the 2019 Presidents Cup. His most prized accomplishment was winning Gold at the 2020 US Open.

He was also recognized as a 2019 All American Athlete by USA TaeKwonDo in Colorado Springs.

In October 2020, Michael was diagnosed with a Glioblastoma, an aggressive malignant brain tumor. While this diagnosis broke him physically and emotionally, it didn’t break his fighting spirit. Soon after his first surgery, Michael was baptized.

Michael is survived by his parents, Mike and Monique Boore; his brother and sister-in-law Timothy and Erica Boore; his brother, Joshua Boore; his grandparents, aunts and uncles, and numerous cousins. If you would like to make a contribution to the Boore Family, please visit their gofundme page.
