Slatespot Dyslexia Tutoring implements the Barton Reading and Spelling System. This phonics program is an Orton-Gillingham structured literacy-based approach to teaching reading and spelling. It is multisensory, meaning it uses more than one sense to engage the student. It is explicit, meaning every facet of reading and spelling is clearly explained such that the student is no longer left confused and guessing at words. Finally, it is systematic, meaning each lesson follows a logical, predictable pattern that flows from simple to more complex.<p>
