About Julie

Julie comes from a family of educators. Her father has created courses for adult learners, while her mother was a public school teacher. Julie followed in their footsteps and taught TK-5th grade for nearly a decade in the South Pasadena Unified School district. She also worked directly with families as a private tutor where she supported students in grades 1-12 with homework, studying, organization, communication, and executive functioning. She stepped away from the classroom when her daughter was born in 2021, but now she is ready to continue to support learners and families with iLEAD.

Julie was raised in Sacramento, CA, but moved to Los Angeles in 2010 to attend California State University Los Angeles where she earned her bachelor’s degree in child development and her multiple subject teaching credential. She also has a master’s degree in Education with an emphasis in STEAM from the University of San Diego.

In addition to teaching, Julie loves spending time with her family and friends, doing yoga, eating sushi, and spending time outdoors.
