About Katie

Katie grew up in the Santa Clarita Valley and has been an educator in Santa Clarita for many years. She received her Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education from the University of Arizona and her Master’s Degree in Social Emotional Learning from National University. Katie has taught kindergarten, first, third, fourth, fifth, and sixth grade. She has also served as a Teacher on Special Assignment supporting educators and learners. Katie is happy to be joining the Exploration team as she loves the creativity and flexibility that the virtual setting has to offer learners.

In addition to being an educator, Katie is also a mom and wife. When she is not working she loves to enjoy time with her family, friends, and dogs. She also enjoys cooking, walking, crafting, and going to pilates.
