About Lisa

After attending Point Loma Nazarene University for her undergraduate studies in English and earning a teaching credential through Cal State Dominguez Hills, Lisa taught English to ninth- and tenth-grade students and coached the Academic Decathlon Team at Torrance High School.

In addition to teaching in public school, Lisa reflects fondly on her ten years of teaching her children at home. Independent study allowed for unique learning opportunities, wonderful park days with friends, and a healthy amount of family chaos. She wouldn’t trade it for anything! Her experiences fuel her desire to help families discover the excellent resources available to independent study learners today.
