About Christie

Christie is a credentialed teacher who has worked in various educational settings, including traditional public, alternative private, and independent study schools for over two decades. She received a Bachelor’s in Business Economics and Accounting from UCSB and after seven years working in finance, she decided to make a career change.She continued her education, receiving a Multiple Subjects Teaching Credential at CSULB.

independent studying has been a way of life for Christie and her family for many years. As a current independent study parent, she highly values educational choice and is passionate about helping other families seek out the best educational paths for their children. Discovering what works for each child has been one of the most rewarding responsibilities as a teacher.

In her spare time, Christie enjoys hiking along coastal nature preserves, and spending quality time with her husband, two children, and standard poodle.
