Join us for an exciting field trip to see The Hot Chocolate Nutcracker, Debbie Allen’s modern reimagining of Tchaikovsky’s classic ballet. This production will take learners on a magical adventure with young Kara and her Nutcracker Prince through lands like Candy Cane Land, Egypt, Bollywood, and more. With its lively characters, such as the comedic “Rat Pack” mice, and new original music by award-winning artists like Arturo Sandoval and Mariah Carey, this show breathes fresh life into a holiday classic.
Your learners will engage with narrative storytelling (ELA RL.4-7), explore cultural diversity (VAPA 1.0 Artistic Perception), and analyze the integration of dance, music, and theater as forms of expression (VAPA 4.0 Aesthetic Valuing). This field trip will offer students a unique opportunity to experience the magic of live performance while aligning with key learning objectives.
