About Jennifer

Growing up, Jennifer always wanted to be a mom and a teacher and is thankful to be part of a community where her two passions collide. She is dedicated to supporting families on their independent study journey! Jennifer started teaching after receiving a bachelor’s degree in liberal studies and credential from Concordia University. She also went on to get a master’s degree in educational technology and an administrative credential. In addition to teaching, she has enjoyed serving as a literacy coach/TOSA, facilitating college courses and being a reading and writing consultant. She is a lifelong learner and is always looking for new ideas to educate and inspire her own independent studyed children as well as the learners for whom she works.

Jennifer loves spending time with her husband, three children, family and friends. Her favorite part of the day is snuggling on the couch and reading aloud to her kids. Jennifer enjoys reading, being in nature, camping at the beach, hanging out with friends, playing games with her son, having tea parties with her girls, going on dates with her husband and attending church. She especially loves laughing and having deep conversations.

Jennifer believes independent studying is a lifestyle and not just something you do during school hours.
