Curriculum Corner: Teach with Movies
Here are some of the past subjects covered:
High School Online Courses Writing Books
Most people say that the book is always better than the movie. We believe this is true. However, after reading a book it is usually fun to watch the screen adaptation of the book. Teach with Movies is an excellent resource to find books that have been made into movies. Teach with Movies also includes a large variety of movies that could be used to teach almost any content. The website has several ways to search for movies including subject, age and top suggestions. Most movies include descriptions of the movies, rationale for watching the movie, objectives/student outcomes, and possible problems with the film depending on content. There are also discussion questions, assignments and lesson plans for most of the films. Be sure to bookmark this site for future lesson planning!
