Book Club for Grades 6th-8th: Code Talker

The fictional lens of a very real moment in history provides insight into the Navajo Code Talkers, American heroes of WWII, that decoded complicated messages in other languages to help win the war for the US. Deep topics like boarding schools, race, and battle fatigue will be explored and balanced with stories of triumph, heroism, and recognition. Additionally, the book will serve as a historical guide through WWII through the eyes of the Navajo Code Talkers.
