Book Club for Grades 6th-8th: The Last Cuentista

Learners will read The Las Cuentista and take a deep dive into stories that make up our collective culture, as well as exploring traditional myths and legends in Hispanic Culture. This book was chosen to coincide with Hispanic Heritage Month celebrated from Sept 15 – Oct 15. Additionally, the protagonist has retina pigmentosa, a disability that hinders her vision. Lastly, learners will explore botany and foraging through the experience of the protagonist and explore their own thoughts on time and space travel.
