Enrichment, 1-4: Story Time & Art – How the Stars Fell into the Sky: A Navajo Legend

November 29, 2023 @ 1:00 pm - 3:00 pm PST

How the Stars Fell into the Sky- A Navajo

The Acton Curriculum Library is celebrating Native American Heritage Month the whole month of November. Join the library staff for story time and art. We will be reading How the Stars Fell into the Sky: A Navajo Legend that features a Navajo first woman and her use of stars to guide her people but is disrupted by a trickster coyote. Be sure to wear your best painting clothes, we will be getting messy!

November 29th 1pm-3pm (Grades 1-4)

Along with story-time, learners will be exposed to a lesson on the Ute Petroglyphs at Delicate Arch in eastern Utah and use this art as inspiration for their own sculptures. We will explore working with clay, painting, and Sgraffito (a technique of carving in wet clay).
