Enrichment, 5-8: Story Time & Art – How the Stars Fell into the Sky: A Navajo Legend

November 15, 2023 @ 1:00 pm - 3:00 pm PST

How the Stars Fell into the Sky- A Navajo

The Acton Curriculum Library is celebrating Native American Heritage Month the whole month of November. Join the library staff for story time and art. We will be reading How the Stars Fell into the Sky: A Navajo Legend that features a Navajo first woman and her use of stars to guide her people but is disrupted by a trickster coyote. Be sure to wear your best painting clothes, we will be getting messy!

November 15th 1pm – 3pm (Grades 5-8)

Learners will use the art of Indigenous Diné artist, Daniel Josely as inspiration in their own works of art to create a mixed-media collage masterpiece. In addition, we will learn to tell our own stories through art with an emphasis on ancient sky art and a beautiful desert backdrop.
