Online Scribblers: High School Poetry – Session 3 (Grades 8-11)
July 22 - August 2
Learners in grades 8-11 are invited to join vendor, Online Scribblers, for a fully asynchronous online class focused on writing poetry. During this two week class learners will:
- Receive personal/individual feedback provided on every poem submitted
- Have the opportunity to revise all poems each week
- Have poems combined into an e-book and the link to the publication shared with parents and iLEAD
school only - Have the option of providing artwork to accompany their poems
Week 1:
Tanka: Focus on Syllabication
Terza Rima: Focus on following technical formats and end rhyme
Week 2:
Found Poems: Finding poetry in the books we read
Free Verse: Review of literary devices and best practices
Session Dates:
- Session 1: June 17-28th
- Session 2: July 8-19th
- Session 3: July 22- Aug 2nd
- Session 4: Aug. 5-16th
