About Amber
Amber Musick earned a bachelor’s degree in English and a single-subject teaching credential from National University. She went on to earn a master’s degree in English from California State University, Long Beach. Before working with independent study families, she taught high school English for six years, grades ranging from nine to 12. She loved teaching high school learners and watching them grow as writers throughout the school year. She also taught college classes at Westwood College in Anaheim for five years. She enjoyed working with non-traditional learners and appreciated the sacrifices they made to continue their education. She also has experience as an online college English professor.
Working with independent study families has been a joy for Amber. She loves building relationships with learners and their families. Amber is inspired by learners as they grow and investigate subjects that interest them, and by parents who allow their children to think outside of the box.
Amber loves to learn, which is why education is her passion. When she is not working, she enjoys spending time with her husband and three children, Parker, Reese, and Smyth. She enjoys being outdoors whether it be riding bikes, going on hikes, swimming in the pool, or taking her kids to the park.
