About Darleen
Darleen was born in Germany and lived her first 12 years of life as a child in an Army family. Because of that, she had the amazing advantage of traveling all over Europe and living in Kansas until her dad retired from the military. The family then moved to the beautiful state of California and it became home.
She went to Cal Poly Pomona and received her Bachelor’s degree in Sociology. Using that degree she worked for Los Angeles County as a Children’s Social Worker. Once she focused on teaching, she earned a teaching credential and a Master’s degree in Curriculum and Instruction from Argosy University. She was hired in her hometown and spent over 19 years teaching in that district’s public schools.
When not teaching, she enjoys spending time with her husband, four children, two rescue Pit Bulls, and friends. She also loves to travel, especially in Europe!
Darleen is excited to be a part of the iLEAD Exploration team where she will be able to support families with their personalized learning plans. She enjoys making new relationships with students and their families.
