About Denise
Denise has always been a passionate learner and natural teacher, most definitely inspired by her early years at home with her mama who lovingly instilled the values of curiosity, wonder, and joy in her heart. After receiving a bachelor’s degree in English from UCLA, Denise continued her education at CSULB and earned a multiple subject credential as well as a single subject credential in English.
Since 1996, Denise has taught, tutored, and mentored learners from preschool to university and beyond in a variety of subjects including writing, literature, history, science, math, health, and yoga. Since 2010, she’s been joyfully guiding her own children’s education. She loves the freedom, flexibility, and fun of independent study. Joining the iLEAD Exploration team as an EF is a perfect fit for Denise. She is grateful for this opportunity to unite her experience and passion to support families on their own unique and wonderful educational journeys.
A happy day for Denise is being with her two children, adventuring in the world, and exploring new ideas together. Denise endeavors to lead by example and is ever deepening her own education, as a mama, a yoga learner and teacher, a writer, and a mentor. She believes that self-awareness is a powerful practice that helps us guide education and our lives from a place of joy, kindness, and love. Denise is incredibly excited to support learners and their families on this revolutionary path of self-expression, personal development, and lifelong exploration.
