About Diane

Diane started her teaching career in Omaha, Nebraska. She received her degree from Kearney State College in Nebraska in elementary education and minored in physical education. Diane moved to California to continue teaching and acquire an administrative services credential. Her career path includes experience as a elementary school teacher, peer assistant helper, head teacher, upper grade learning specialist, assistant principal and as a principal in the elementary school setting. Diane stepped away from administration to spend more time with her children as they entered high school and to pursue a credential in American Sign Language.

Her family consists of two lovely teenagers and her husband, Billy. The Miscione family enjoys camping at the beach in their trailer. Diane enjoys running and going to the gym as well as reading, gardening and cooking.

She has had experience with independent studying within the traditional school setting and has family and friends who are currently independent studying their own children. She is thrilled to be a part of the iLEAD organization and looks forward to meeting new students and families.
