About Shaneka

Dr. Shaneka Bullins has been a STEAM educator for 17 years, working across public, private, and charter K-12 schools, as well as higher education institutions such as USC, UC Riverside, and University of the West. She is passionate about culturally-responsive teaching, ensuring student experiences and voices shape the learning environment. Through collaborations with organizations like Community Coalition, USC’s Upward Bound, and Famli Soul, Dr. Bullins has developed STEAM-based curricula that integrate students’ cultural interests. By doing so, she empowers students to tackle community issues, fostering a love for STEAM and a sense of purpose. Dr. Bullins has a bachelor’s degree from UCLA, and a master’s degree and doctoral degree from USC. When not teaching, Dr. Bullins enjoys singing with her family, traveling, and finding unique shoes.
