About Katherine

Katherine grew up in Fayetteville, North Carolina. She graduated from Ashford University in 2018 with her BA in Early Childhood Development. Upon graduation, Katherine began working in the Special Education department at Iwakuni Middle School in Iwakuni Japan. It took Katherine a few years of trying different grade levels to find her sweet spot with the younger learners. Katherine and her family moved to NC where she was a NC Pre-K teacher for 2 years. She believes that every student learns differently and is always determined to find ways to help students learn their way. Learning is not one size fits all, so she loves the challenge of creating an engaging learning environment for her students.

Katherine is a southern girl from North Carolina but currently resides in Camarillo, CA with her husband, 3 children, and 2 dogs. Her family loves sports and loves being outdoors. Katherine loves to travel and has lived in Virginia, Japan, North Carolina, and now California. She has traveled to Australia, Guam, The Bahamas, Germany, Jamaica, & various states.

In her free time Katherine enjoys being home with her family. She enjoys reading thriller and romance novels and will read any chance she gets. Her favorite time to read is while she is sitting on the beach. Katherine has a Great Dane named Banks and a Teacup Maltese named Yuki (Snow, in Japanese).
