About Kendra

Working with other independent study families at iLEAD is a dream come true for Kendra. She is a proud graduate of Westmont College. Kendra earned a multiple subject teaching credential from Concordia, and then received a master’s degree in reading and a reading specialist credential from Cal State Fullerton. She taught elementary school in Garden Grove Unified before making the leap to independent studying her own children.

independent studying quickly became a passion for her. She was able to see her children thrive in their learning of not just reading, writing, and math, but in all subjects. Her children have different interests and had time to pursue them. What a gift! Kendra loves walking alongside other families who are on similar journeys. independent studying looks different for each family and that is something to celebrate. She challenges her learners to stretch themselves to try new things and experience as much as they can through field trips and projects that interest them.

Kendra lives in North Tustin and loves spending time with her husband and three children. You can usually find her on a soccer field, hockey rink, or at a church event. She loves being outside and enjoys sharing life with friends and family.
