About Lorraine

Lorraine was born and raised in the south bay of Los Angeles county, where she still resides! Since she was young, she always wanted to pursue a career in the field of education to teach young minds. Lorraine received a bachelor’s degree from the University of California in San Diego, with a major in sociology and a minor in teacher education. From there, she went on to earn a multiple subject teaching credential from California State University in Long Beach. She worked in the Temple City Unified School District in Los Angeles county for 12 years and enjoyed teaching multiple grade levels at a traditional school. Although Lorraine loved working in the public school system, she has also learned from having her own family the value and benefits of families leading their children to pursue a lifelong path of learning as the main influence on their education, passions, and interests. She is so thankful that she gets to partner with independent study families to do just that!

Lorraine enjoys spending time with her husband and two daughters. Her hobbies include cooking, baking, and caring for her house plants and succulent garden!
