About Melissa

Melissa has taught 3rd and 4th grade and served as a reading intervention teacher for grades K-6 for the past 15 years. Melissa graduated from Biola University with a bachelor’s degree in liberal arts and the Torrey Honors Institute where she studied books spanning from Plato to Descartes in the classical model. Her undergraduate studies also took her abroad to England where she obtained her English Emphasis at Oxford University’s Magdalen College. She also completed her multiple subject teaching credential while studying at Biola University and cleared her credential through National University. Melissa loves engaging with learners in discussion, through project based learning, technology, and service projects. In her spare time, she enjoys reading about learning and the brain.

Melissa is very excited to be working with iLEAD to support families and give each child the best possible education. She believes that each child is unique and their education should be just as unique and personal. Melissa is fulfilling a lifelong dream by independent studying her own son and desires to share that joy with other families by supporting them as an educational facilitator.
When Melissa is not working, she loves to spend time with her son and her daughter. She loves Disneyland, swing dancing, camping, reading, a good cup of espresso, and playing at the beach with her kids.
