About Monica

Monica was born in Southern California and raised in both California and Hawaii. She has family in both states and would travel between the two. Monica received her B.A. in Liberal Arts and minored in Music at CSULB. While residing in Hawaii and substitute teaching for 7 years, she was motivated to go back to school to get certified in Special Education (Mild/Moderate) at U. H. Manoa in 2017. Hawaii is where she began her teaching career primarily in the elementary school setting. After the Covid pandemic, Monica decided to move back to California to help take care of her mother. She has one little boy, a cat, and a husband. She recently joined the iLEAD Exploration team and is excited for this new upcoming school year!
