About Rachel

Rachel grew up in sunny southern California. As a high schooler, she began helping in the preschool Sunday school classes at her church and it was here that a passion for working with children was ignited. She went to UCLA with the intention of one day going into optometry, but soon realized that she must follow her greater love and pursue a career in teaching. After studying child development and earning a bachelor’s degree in psychology, she attended UCLA’s Graduate School of Education where she earned a master’s degree in education and her multiple subject teaching credential.

Rachel taught at elementary schools in both Lawndale and Tustin. She loved teaching young students how to read and catching a glimpse of those “aha” moments when a student understood a concept for the first time. Rachel enjoys working with and supporting independent study families as an Educational Facilitator with iLEAD Exploration.

Rachel is active at her church, where she continues to teach Sunday school. In her free time, Rachel loves to bake and even decorate cookies. She is an avid reader and loves that she can share the joys of a good book with her children. She also loves traveling, being outdoors, and simply spending time with her wonderful husband and their four children.
