About Yvette

Yvette is thrilled to be joining the iLEAD Exploration team this year as an educational facilitator! In 2001, Yvette graduated with her B.A. in psychology from Loyola Marymount University, and then earned her teaching credential from Cal State L.A. and Point Loma Nazarene University. She started her elementary teaching career 20 years ago. After a couple of years in public school, Yvette spent many years in an independent school teaching various elementary grades, as well as Spanish. Yvette is a mom to two daughters, and her passion for independent study developed when she decided to independent study one of them for a time. She feels strongly that the ability to customize each student’s education is hugely beneficial, and is eager to help guide families through this process.

In her free time, Yvette enjoys spending time with her husband and teenage daughters, as well as with her extended family. She loves to go to the beach, have pool days with friends, play board games, and attend her daughters’ plays or softball games. She is looking forward to a great year with iLEAD!
