Planning for College Scholarships

Book-Cover

Most college-bound high school learners don’t start thinking about college until it is time to start applying to schools during their senior year of high school. But guess what? The best time to start thinking about college is in the last year of junior high! It may seem too early, but having a plan or a road map is a great idea. A wonderful book that can be helpful with this process is “Confessions of a Scholarship Winner” by Kristina Ellis. This book is helpful for feeling well-prepared prior to the senior year of high school.

In her book, Kristina not only shares her little-known secrets for scholarship success, but she also shares her incredibly inspiring story. After the devastation of losing her father to cancer and her mother’s inability to financially support her after high school, Kristina, an average learner with less-than-impressive test scores, realized she would have to sell herself to scholarship committees if she wanted to stand out. Kristina devised the plan that led to her receiving over $500,000 in scholarships (which was enough to pay for her full education at a top 20 university and complete her doctoral degree).

Kristina explains how she made this happen, and how you can, too! You don’t have to be a star athlete or a recognized leader to win scholarships! Kristina shares how to find the best scholarships, make a great impression in a scholarship interview, and how to plan a strategy that highlights one’s strengths regardless of challenges or financial status. This book will show you the tools needed to catch a vision for how to pay for the college you hope to attend.
