Learner Spotlight: Kaley
Kaley, a 13-year-old sophomore, was assessed as profoundly gifted at age 5. As an out-of-the-box learner, she skipped several grades and it has been a challenge to find schools that were willing to accommodate Kaley’s advanced intellect and interests. iLEAD has enabled Kaley to study at her own pace and to learn through areas she cares about.
Kaley is a talented writer, has a great passion for horses, and is taking English riding (hunter-jumper) lessons at Delacreme Equestrian at Galway Downs. She also has a profound interest in airplanes and has traveled by herself many times. She is now taking the second semester of an aeroscience college course. She spends her free time watching crime drama TV shows such as “Criminal Minds” and “Sherlock,” drawing, riding her horse Volaris, and spending time with her friends and dog, Shiloh.
