Book Club for 3rd-5th Grades: ‘Front Desk’ by Kelly Yang

books library

Front Desk, written by Kelly Yang, is a novel about a 10-year-old girl named Mia and her determination to help her family in the 1990s in Anaheim, California. Coming from China, in pursuit of the American dream, her family deals with many challenges but finds friends and a new community along the way. Learners will be reading sections on their own and coming together to discuss them. Participants will also use Mia’s letters as inspiration to make their letters for change.

Join us on Thursdays on Zoom at 10 AM: March 21 and 28, (no school April 4th), April 11 18, and 25; May 2, 9, and 16.

Register here.
