Book Club for Grades 3-5

iLEAD Exploration 3rd-5th Grade Book Club

Beginning October 26, 3rd through 5th grade learners are invited to join this Book Club event and read The Birchbark House by Louise Erdrich. Louise Erdich is a member of the Turtle Mountain Band of the Chippewa or Ojibwa Tribe, and she uses her own Ojibwa family history to share the beauty and complexity of her heritage. Learners will witness both the joys and the hardships of this tribe during the 1840s. Through the life of a young Ojibwa girl, Omakayas, learners will explore the ideas of family, community, and resilience. Visit the hub to register.

This Book Club meets on Zoom Thursdays at 10 AM:

  • October 26
  • November 2
