Book Club for Grades 6-8

Over the course of four virtual meetings, learners in grades 6-8 will discuss one of the most famous authors of all time and her last book, Persuasion. Learners will explore Ann Elliot’s world of British high society and will dissect Jane Austen’s rhetorical style. The optional culminating movie presentation will be the Netflix production of Persuasion, and learners will have the opportunity to compare Austen’s language with modern-day language.

Zoom Meetings:

  • January 20 and 27 at 9 a.m.
  • February 3 and 10 at 9 a.m.

Movie Day

  • February 17 at 11 a.m. – 2 p.m.
