Vendor Spotlight: Ekata Training Center

ekata

Ekata Training Center is a state-licensed child care facility known as a “21st Century Conservatory.” Ekata specializes in movement-based learning for the whole family. Founded by UCLA professor Edward Monaghan, Ekata offers classes in several unique martial arts, hip hop, physical conditioning and yoga. In addition, Ekata offers private music lessons for guitar, bass, piano and voice.
More than just physical training, Ekata teaches “mindfulness” (training the mind to hold a single point of focus), which enables children to regulate emotions and behavior. Learners develop skills to manage conflict and handle bullies. Along with children’s classes, Ekata offers a full program for adults which includes stress reduction, physical training and a full state-of-the-art gym – even massages and acupuncture! When you bring the kids for class, you can also work out or schedule a relaxing massage!
